6 Most expensive Dog Breeds in 2021

Dogs are an important part of our lives and that’s why we always shower them with affection and love. With more than 300 dog breeds available worldwide, there is a wide variety to choose from. However, some breeds are super expensive to purchase because of their rarity, purity and abilities. The following is our list of the most expensive breeds of dogs in the entire world.

1. Samoyed

Coming top in this list is the Samoyed dog breed that costs around $14,000. Originating from Siberia, it is a rare breed that’s known for its social, loving and kind attitude. Additionally, it’s also a brilliant and mischievous animal that loves attention. Thus, making it perfect for children and families. While Samoyeds are rare, unlike other breeds, they’re prone to health issues that can rack up huge vet bills.

2. Peruvian Inca Orchid

Smart, agile and swift, this elegant dog breed originated from Peru. The Peruvian Inca Orchid can be coated or hairless and comes in different sizes namely large, medium and small. Apart from being alert and lively, these dogs have great speed and strength, making them excellent hunters. With all these qualities, it’s no surprise why they are so expensive. This dog breed costs around $4,000.

3. Chow Chow

This breed originated from China and is among the rarest in the entire world. The Chow Chow is not only expensive to acquire, but also expensive to maintain. You’ll incur bills for its food, treats, and grooming. Apart from that, the breed is also prone to health issues like eyelid entropion and thyroid function, that can really rack up veterinary bills. A Chow Chow dog costs approximately $11,000.

4. Löwchen

Having originated from France, this breed has been popular with Europeans for over 500 years. Also referred to as “little lion dog,”, the Löwchen is very rare such that it’s in danger of extinction. Currently, there are just 300 dogs of this breed registered worldwide. These little hounds are astonishingly healthy, so you won’t incur huge vet bills. The only issue is the upfront price of a puppy which is about $8,000.

5. Tibetan Mastiff

This is a powerful and intelligent dog breed known for its rugged look. It originated from Tibet where it was used by locals to protect livestock from predators such as wolves, bears and leopards. The Tibetan mastiff can weigh over 68 kilograms and is quite expensive with its price ranging between $2,000 and $10,000.
