Horses Make the Landscape More Beautiful

Seeing horses has an almost magical effect on me. Their beauty and grace lifts my spirits. I recently came across this quote: “Feeling down? Saddle up. It’s the best cure.” src=”http://petnewsandviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/arabian-horse3.jpg” alt=”" title=”arabian-horse3″ width=”216″ height=”244″ class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-998″ />

Horses have always been special to me. I took horseback riding lessons in my 20s, and ride every once in a while. My best ride was following the Pony Express trail in Wyoming. I had the good fortune of coming across a handful of wild horses. I truly cried tears of joy seeing such beauty.

I’m bringing up horses again because I posted a story on Friday about the Bureau of Land Management and the wild horse and burro round up. I’ve heard from a number of you here, on Facebook, and on Care2.  If you haven’t done this already, please read the post. It was written by my friend Laura Allen of Animal Law Coalition. And please, please, please (yes, I’m begging) call the White House. Ask President Obama to order a moratorium on wild horse roundups. The numbers is 202-456-1111. I also asked the representative on the phone to let the President know that I and many of my friends want to see Ken Salazar ousted.

Following is a video of wild horses running free.
